Creative Hat Contest
A region tradition dating back to the 2013 Magic Center Regional Tournament, the Creative Hat Contest is an outlet for teams — or maybe their coaches and parents — to express their creativity.
Entries into this year's contest should reflect this year's 30 Years of Magic theme — a nod to our region's 30th year as a participant in the Odyssey of the Mind program. Let your creativity run wild. The only two requirements: The hat must be worn easily (both size and weight), and it must fit in the overhead compartment of a plane. After all, it will be making the trip to the World Finals with our Regional Director — after she wears it all around the State Tournament first, of course. At the World Finals, pins collected from various teams will further adorn the hat, which will be awarded the next year to the region's Wizard of Odyssey recipient.
Outside assistance is ENCOURAGED for this contest. Coaches and parents, you can get your hands all over your hat. You've had to keep your ideas to yourself since September. Now, you can let them all out!
Drop off your completed entry form and your hat in the Creative Hat area (which is combined with the Registration and Worker Check-In areas in the Performing Arts Center lobby) by 3 p.m. on Tournament Day. Entries are limited to one hat per team.
